I’m going to postpone sharing more of the story I was writing about on June 17th to share some good news. Today I received a job offer to start tomorrow!! I’m not sure if its full time or part time, but I’ll take any work that I can find right now. A job is particularly important to me as I live in a sober house, and they require you to have a job within the first two weeks as a requirement to stay there. They are lenient if someone is actively looking for work, but eventually you will be asked to leave if you’re not employed. So, that is a very positive development in my life.

In the past, I worked in Information Technology (IT) and it’s been difficult to find work in that field as I have numerous alcohol related charges on my record. Most IT companies will definitely do a background check and once they see your record, they will pass on moving forward with a job offer. I do continue to look for jobs in that field and I will continue even with my new position. My mother always told me that “it’s easier to find a job when you have a job” and I live by that statement.
